One of them bore an expression I was intimately familiar with, having seen it on my own face lately when reflected in mirrors. Serious and brooding, with his head resting on his chin, the very weight on the world appeared to be on his shoulders.
Whatever he was thinking about, it did not seem to be ordinary in the slightest.
In stark contrast, the other did not seem half as troubled. Instead, a smile played across his lips as he scratched his head almost casually, as if idly considering a curious thought.
Striking as they are, these differences could not have been brought out more clearly.
Every nuance of carving seemed to accentuate their nature, and I found myself held enraptured by the subtle details, and obvious artistic prowess that had gone into the making of each of the statues. In that one moment, I knew that I absolutely had to get my hands on a pair.

As consumed as I was by this impromptu study, all thought of my own problems practically vanished without me even realizing it. Calm and composed, my thoughts were more ordered than they had been in some time.
